A couple of years ago, Bill Toborg and I were invited to an outing with our grandson, Cooper to the Muscatatuck Refuge.  This was a nature outing for Cooper’s class at school, a field trip with grandparents
.
We went on a nature hike on one of the trails, came back and watched a slide show, and viewed the exhibits.  Later, after a short movie we went outside to the picnic tables and made butter from heavy cream in baby food jars.  We had muffins and the fresh butter we had just made and then did a few more things, all to teach young people about nature.

The trip lasted about 3 hours or so, then we cleaned up the table and prepared to leave.
We walked back across the lawn to our vehicles with Cooper walking between us and talking as we walked.  Cooper looked up and said, “I’m happy.”  He was expressing his joy at being on an outing with both of his grandpas.

To this boy our presence was joy, because of our love for him and his love for us.  The sharing of time and the presence of ourselves, expressions of love all created the joy we all three felt.

Our Heavenly Father longs so much for us to spend time with Him.  He wants to help in all things as Bill and I did with Cooper.

God loves each of us much more than we love our grandson, Cooper, and that’s a lot.

Work at showing your love for God each day and the more you lean on Him, the greater the joy you will experience.
